Prayer Retreat
Prayer Retreat
Today I am going to spend the day in prayer. This passage will be my focus:

Isaiah 62:6-7 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
6 Jerusalem,
I have appointed watchmen on your walls;(A)
they will never be silent, day or night.
There is no rest for you,
who remind the Lord.
7 Do not give Him rest
until He establishes and makes Jerusalem
the praise of the earth.(B)

Is God calling us to act as watchmen today? Is He wanting us to watch and pray about terrorism around the world and enter the war on terror through and with prayer?

(837 a.m.) It's snowing! When did that start? I just looked out the window. Thank God for the moisture and the beauty of a layer of snow-cake frosting on the land.

So what is a watchman in prayer and intercession?
See this blog post:
Title: "THE TASK OF THE WATCHMAN" By Dave Butts
Link: http://www.harvestprayer.com/resources/articles/intercession/task-of-watchman
Please read that article. It's a fantastic explanation.
In the biblical times, a watchman was someone that stood, alert, guarding, watching for the enemy or any signs of the enemy. Then, if they spotted the enemy, they sounded the alarm. They stood on watch.
Our military still uses the watchman today. They are referred to as a sentry, security force, and defense force.
We are all called to pray and to pray always (see verses in previous blog post of: 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 and Philippians 4:6-8).
Here is another article and blog post about the watchman:

Please read the article.
