My Personal Prayer Journaling on Saturday March 21, 2015

S.O.A.P. of Jeremiah 17:7-8, Part 2
I keep reading this passage and what to commit it to memory and to each moment of my day.
*~*
Jeremiah 17:7-8 New Living Translation (NLT)
7 "But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit.

Observation, Application, and Prayer:
I want to trust in God and have complete confidence and hope in Him.
Okay... That is a great sentiment. What does this look like in practice? How do I apply it? And, not only that, but how do I fully apply this to my life?
Lord, show me the way, please. How do I this? How do I live this way and in this manner?
I do not want to ever worry or be in a spiritual drought again. Instead, I want to be blessed by trusting in You fully, Lord, through having total hope and confidence in You. But, I need to know how to do so. Show me the way, God. I want to live a fruitful life in You.

My writing: My personal prayer journaling
March 21, 2015
I am still trying to figure out what to write, as far as a book. However, that is not my goal right now. Personal prayer journaling is my focus instead, which also means writing a daily devotional in the process as a result.
What do I want to write about? Or more importantly, what do I want to journal about?
1 Life--in Christ
2 Counting my blessings
3 Taking a Stand against terrorism
4 The end times
~*~*~*~*~
Tetrad: Four Blood Moons
316 p.m.
I have been praying about what I should write.
Is this it?
Is this a fiction book?
April is Camp NaNoWriMo. Should I? Do I?
If so, it will have the title: "TETRAD: FOUR BLOOD MOONS."

My Personal Prayer Journaling on Saturday March 21, 2015. S.O.A.P. of Jeremiah 17:7-8

Jeremiah 17:7-8 is the verse of the day at https://www.biblegateway.com. I found it in my email this morning before I even got out of bed. It brought me peace and joy at once and it made me ponder.

The passage is one I needed to read and apply immediately--and still is a couple of hours later. These scripture verses are a life-changer, if read, pondered, prayed, applied, and reviewed.

I cannot help but wonder how different my life would be if I applied these verses every moment of every day.

Also, how different would our world be if others did the same. If the world lived these verses, we would find the peace everyone seeks.

Now... SOAP:

Scripture:
If I trust in God, I will be blessed.
Pause.
I allow that truth to sink in deeply and think on it for a moment, realizing if I spent every moment for the rest of my life, I would be able to glean more and more. It is a passage I could meditate on the rest of my life.

Observation:
Isn't this the life every person seeks?
The Jeremiah 17:7-8 life...
Yes. I will meditate, ponder, think, and pray on these things.
Trust in the Lord my God... How do I do that exactly?
I turn to the original Hebrew meaning of TRUSTS, and find this:
It infers we are to trust in God boldly. Firmly. Without question or hesitation.
Do I trust the Lord in this manner?
How much do I trust the Lord, really?
My husband and I are in the waiting room right now, waiting for God to guide and organize our steps. We are waiting for instruction and answers. We know they will come. It's just... when? How? What does He expect of us as we wait and sit in the waiting room? How can we trust fully, boldly, with confidence, and not waiver?

Will be continued.

S.O.A.P.: What it is

What is S.O.A.P. regarding Bible Reading, studying, prayer journaling, and application? It is this:

Scripture
Observations
Application
Prayer

Do this with every verse or passage you read and it will bless your time with God and His Word.

My Personal Prayer Journaling and Blessings Counted List

March 16, 2015, Monday

Good morning, Lord.

Pause. I try to focus on You alone.

My mind wanders instead, therefore, I will count my blessings instead and see if that helps:

New coffee mugs.
The first cup of coffee for the day.
Sinan Cat enjoying bird watching through the sliding glass doors he didn't have for roughly 3.5 years.
Cell phones so hubby can check the grocery list items as he shops. Also, that he would think to call.
The smell of a freshly brewed pot of coffee.
Wisdom learned from my uncle last night.
Remembering how things could always be so much worse.
Being grateful for what and who I have today. They are more than enough.
Once feral cats.
When one of my critters comes to me for love and attention.
Beautiful big blue sky days.
Fluffy cat tails.

Where is the outrage? Where are the voices?!?

Where is the outrage? Where are the voices?!?

Every day I receive about fifty emails of daily blog posts from Christian blogs and ministries. I read even more. I am well versed in the current Christian world, books, and news. I know the latest focus in Christian circles. Therefore, let me share my sadness, frustration, and fury.

ISIS is systematically torturing and murdering Christians. They have declared war on the Nation of the Cross. And, only one of over 300 Christians and Christian organizations in my reading since Sunday, February 15 have addressed this Christian holocaust.

Only one. (Ann Voskamp, by the way.)

Why are Christians actively, intentionally avoiding this?

Christians are being targeted for annihilation.

Why is the Church silent?

Why is most every Christian tight lipped?

We will have to answer to God for this.

Why is the extermination of Christians acceptable? Saying nothing is as good as saying it is okay and is endorsing it.

When will every Christian say something about this new holocaust?

How can any Christian carry on with life as normal?

What will your answer be when God asks you about this as you approach His throne when you die?

Where is your voice?

Bible verse of the day: Psalm 91

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=ps+91&version=NLT

Psalm 91 New Living Translation (NLT)

1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
8 Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.

9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands
so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

14 The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life
    and give them my salvation."

My Personal Prayer Journaling on Thursday, March 19, 2015

A new goal of this blog is to share news headlines about terrorism and the Christian Holocaust. I will share links and articles throughout the day.

Hence, this RYP Stories blog will have multiple daily posts. Be warned. I will keep you informed and give you things to think on and pray about.

I will try to put all of my personal daily prayer journaling into one blog post in an effort to cut down on the amount of blog posts I post daily. Therefore, I will put this " ~*~*~*~*~" to mark divisions between thoughts or journal entries.

~*~*~*~*~
How I Woke Today

I have come to appreciate waking slowly. I used to be the type where the moment my eyes opened, I was off to the races and I got more done before ten in the morning than most got done by five p.m. I have come to a new appreciation, thanks to my husband's wisdom, of moving more slowly. I try to appreciate and savor the moments throughout my day and that includes when I wake up.

God and prayer should be my first focus.

Then, I check off all my new emails as read and I scan them for anything I need to respond to.

Next, I scan the news.

Have I mentioned lately how I love technology and my cell and Amazon Kindle Fire tablet? For, I do all of this before I step off the bed.

Today's scan of my emails caught my attention immediately when I came across the latest Ann Voskamp, A Holy Experience, email and her blog post. I immediately sent it to my RYP Stories blog, which you can read here, if you haven't already:

http://www.aholyexperience.com/2015/03/journey-thr...

I will re-read it several times in the upcoming days and weeks. It moved me.

It moved me to do an internet search and I found Christianity Today, World News, tab or website and found several articles about the Christian Holocaust and what the terrorists are doing to Christians and Christian holy sites.

{A news source I recommend now. They are talking about terrorism and the Church... never mind the Christian Holocaust. Check it out throughout your day every day. I know I will:
http://www.christiantoday.com/world}

And... it caught my attention. How could any of this not? I am now in a funk. I am heavy hearted. Moved. Changed. Furious. Saddened. Emboldened.

Dazed.

Then, I remembered today's date and everything that happened... I, then, understood more of my funk. (See below.)
~*~*~*~*~

Anniversary
Twelve years ago today we're two significant events in my life. I cannot help but reflect on them today.

1 The Colorado blizzard of 2003

But, far more importantly:

2 The start of the War Against Terror in Iraq

What I find interesting is how no news source I have looked at today have mentioned the war's anniversary.
~*~*~*~*~

ISIS got its start because we pulled out of Iraq too soon.

And, it has brought out a new holocaust... not just on Christians... But rather, on anyone who does not believe in the ideology of the terrorists. Christians. Jews. Fellow Muslims even. No one is exempt. If you do not believe like they do, you are their enemy and they want to either convert you or murder you.

That is the bottom line. Period.
~*~*~*~*~

Our God is Bigger and Needs No Defense

As I woke today, I read about the terrorists destroying ancient Christian sites in the Middle East, in Iraq and Syria in particular. It breaks my heart and brings me to pray.

I refuse to mourn for what was lost.

Our God, the One True God, Jehovah, Father of Jesus Christ, is Bigger. Far bigger, more knowledgeable, more powerful, higher than any other god. He needs no one to defend Him. He can stand easily on His own.

The truth of the matter is God and Jesus Christ cannot be erased or destroyed.

Christianity cannot be demolished, nor our history. Both Christians and history will exist even if all buildings and texts are destroyed. As a matter of fact, Christianity will thrive, for we will be resolved and our faith will grow and deepen.

Our faith is far more than buildings band texts.

Jesus Christ is alive. And, He will return.

Any questions?
~*~*~*~*~

My God is Far More Powerful

I have said this before, but think I need to journal it again:

God does not need me to stand up for Him. He is powerful enough to stand on His own.
My God does not ask me to die for Him.

This being said, I may die because of my faith in Him.

He is Bigger, more powerful, more knowing than all the gods put together.

If all Christians were killed, God would stand just fine on His own. He will destroy all evil.
~*~*~*~*~

How is my faith and life in Jesus Christ today? This I will ponder and pray about.

Living Philippians 4:6 Today

Personal prayer journaling

Lord, You know me and worrying. It is something I have always struggled with and is something I try to stop. You have taught me that worrying is also thinking about something more than once, something that tends to dwell in my thoughts, when I should be praying, being open to You, counting my blessings, and thinking of You.

Philippians 4:6New Living Translation (NLT)

6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Lord, You know how my life is in... What is the Word? Not in upheaval... In flux? Yes. My life is in the waiting mode. My husband, whom I will call B, and I are waiting for answers. We moved and are awaiting a job and house to open up and this is a little unnerving. Scratch that. Or could be. If I think about this, waiting for the stars to align so to speak, my heart starts to pound and I start to feel uneasy. Then, I remember Who is really in control, Who has perfect timing, and Who has a perfect plan. That is all I need to remember and then I stop worrying. You are perfect and infinite. You know best.

You have never once failed me. Your timing and plan are usually, okay--always, different from mine, but have always been for the best. So, I do not worry about job or house. I do not need to, for You have it. You are in control. You are capable. You know so much more than I. To YOU be the glory. Use us, Lord, for Your will.

I am not worried overall and am absolutely confident in You and Your perfect plan. Thank You, Lord, for bringing me to this point.

Help me, Lord, to pray for and about everything as I also count my blessings.

How I want to live

A devotional and personal prayer journaling:

I want to allow the Bible, verse by verse, to sink as deeply into my heart and mind as possible. I want to listen fully to You, Lord, and learn everything You want me to from each verse. I do not want to read a word and then move on. I do not want to rush the process. I want to pray the Word and meditate on it literally day and night.

Lord, teach me to do all these things.

Lord, what do You want me to learn from the following verse?

Philippians 4:6 New Living Translation (NLT)

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Pray about everything. Every-thing. Meaning without exception. There is nothing I should fail to bring to You, Lord.

And, always thank You for what You have done.

Philippians 4:6 Expanded Bible (EXB)

Do not ·worry [be anxious] about anything, but pray and ·ask God for everything you need [or make your requests known to God], always giving thanks.

Lord, teach me how to live this verse. Fully. Truly. Deeply. All the time. Without stopping. Help me make this verse the way I live... the way I choose to live my life. And, help me to actually do it and live it.

Oh, how this is my heart's desire. Guide me, teach me, show me how, God.

Pray about everything... always giving thanks, Father, for what You have done. Everything. Always. Never stopping.
