The Prayer Notebook vs. The Prayer Journal

I recommend keeping one of each as you pray. This is far more true as you now have learned that your prayers impact generations. How can we remember what we've prayed unless we write them down? Also, how can we remember what to pray?

A Prayer Notebook is an outline of what to pray. It's generic.

A Prayer Journal is what you have prayed and what you pray as you write. It's your record.

Have you ever kept one before? What does each of those look like?

As far as the notebook have a resource for you for that already: http://usagc2026.blogspot.com/2011/12/usagc-2026-prayer-notebook-version-1.html

As far as how to prayer journal. Stay tuned. This will be one of the things I focus on this week.

Snowy Days

(Photo is from Microsoft Clipart)

I am a Colorado native who lives in Virginia at the moment. Here it is, almost winter and almost Christmas and, oh! how I miss snow. While I do not miss driving in it and all the crazy drivers, I miss how life slows down. It offers the opportunity to pray. You will not travel far, unless you absolutely have to do so. Hence, it give you more time for intentional prayer--where that is all you are doing. You are not having to drive across town or run errands at the same time.

Life slows and you can pray more. That's what snow means to me.

So, I think I am going to start declaring snow days--even if it's only in my mind.

What can you do to pray more in your life?

Grandparents and Prayer: A Tribute

I am writing this blog post as a tribute to not only my grandparents, but to all grandparents.

I get terrified whenever I think of what my life would be like today if not for the prayers of my Granny and Pa. While Pa died 19 years ago this month, I know his prayer still make a difference in my life today.

Then, there's my Granny. She has prayed for me since the moment she knew I was in my mother's womb.

I know Granny's prayers have made all the difference in my life. I cannot tell you the comfort it brings me on a daily basis to know she prayed, prays, and will continue to pray for me.

Grandparents, your love and prayers make far more of a difference than you might ever know.

Anyone who is too young to be a parent, or is already one, start praying for your grandchildren, as well as for your children, if you have not already. your prayers will impact m,any generations after you and all the people around you now.

Pray, pray, pray.

Prayer Blazers

Starting with my Tim Tebow blog post from yesterday, I am going to have a section in this blog called, "PRAYER BLAZERS." They are not meant to do anything, but increase awareness and blaze our hearts and minds in prayer.

I grow weary of Christians burying their heads in the sand, pulling their covers over their head, and living in a world of intentional ignorance and denial. That also goes against what Jesus would have us do. Jesus confronted the culture of his day (not the people, but the cultural beliefs). He asked his disciples to do the same. Acts and Romans talks about this as well. The cultural beliefs encouraged Jesus and his disciples to bring about the Great Commission. Disciples were made. Prayers were desperate for the souls of the people of the culture.

Prayer Blazers are NEVER meant to cut people down or criticize them. They are just meant to ignite us in prayer for the beliefs, hearts, and minds of people--to soften them to the gospel and accept Jesus Christ as Lord.

Check out this prayer blazer:

A Problem of Prayer Warriors: Small-Mindedness

(Photo is from Microsoft Clipart)

I think a problem some tend to have with praying fruitful, unceasing, long-term, lifespan prayers is we do not think in big enough terms regarding prayer. The harsh way of saying this is I think we tend to act small-minded and minimize prayer. But, we sure do not intend to do so.

I know I do. I never even realized it either until I started reading "The Circle Maker" by Mark Batterson. I do not pray big enough. I am afraid of being disappointed. I am impatient and if it doesn't get answered right away, I tend to get frustrated with God and with prayer. I want the quick-fix, fast-food, email vs. snail mail type of prayer.

"The Circle Maker" pointed out how in the book of Daniel, the prophet Daniel prayed for events, and for a specific person (the Messiah), that would not happen for another 2,000 years. And, Daniel prayed for them as urgently as he would have if a friend was sick and might die for him today. Do you think he ever saw the results of his prayer, or had them answered, while he was on earth? He knew he would never see it on earth. But, he still prayed with urgency, three times a day--even when it was illegal. He was determined in prayer and never took his eyes off of what was important: his prayer time with the Lord.

Yet, Daniel's prayers were answered in quadruple-fold when Jesus Christ was born, then again while Jesus lived, then again when Jesus died, and then again when Jesus was resurrected. Daniel's prayers impacted generations up to Jesus and still to this day and will for generations to come (or until the Messiah returns).

Now do you see why I say some of us are small-minded and minimize prayer? I never would have imagined that one of my prayers could positively impact generations upon generations of people and their lives. Then, there is the flip side. If I do not pray one prayer, how many generations am I negatively impacting?

Wow. That sure gives me a lot to take into consideration, I do not know about you.

How much will our prayers impact generations to come? The answer is simple. It depends on how much we pray. Te more we pray, the more we give God the opportunity to bless. I do not know about you, but I do not want to keep God from doing what he wants to do--love on and bless his people.

I also do not want to be so small-minded about prayer.

So... Do you want to join me and pray, pray, and then pray some more? The Great Commission still needs to be fulfilled in this nation. (And, that's a command from the Lord.)

Extended Prayer This Weekend

Here's a challenge.

Can you find some time for extended prayer this weekend?

Prayer Request #1: Partial Answer

The prayer request I shared earlier today already has a partial answer.

The woman has looked DAILY for 6 months. She has only had one interview to date.

Guess what?

She's been called for one the week after Christmas. This prayer continues. But, it already has a partial answer. To HIM be the glory.

For those of you in the same situation, take this to heart. Never give up. Keep looking. Keeping praying. Know that we are praying for you as well.

Thank you to anyone who has joined me in praying for the unemployed!

Thank YOU, LORD!

The lifespan of a prayer

(Photo is from Microsoft Clipart)

Have you thought through the lifespan of a prayer?

Now, let me explain.

A prayer I pray right now might take forty years before it is answered in my life.

Then, the prayer might be answered in one way at that time and in another way in 6 months and in another way in ten years. Then, it also might impact the lives of my children, their children, and the generation after them.

Never mind how my one prayer impacts my life now. If I am praying something  constantly, I am drawing forever nearer to the Lord. I am getting a deeper realtionship with him. Who does this impact? Literally everyone I come in contact with--no matter how long I talk to them, see them, or how long it takes them to read a blog post.

So, the lifespan of one of my prayers today is actually for eternity--even though I might see one answer today.

Our prayers are concentric circles that impact eternity of the lives of everyone in which we come across, see, and know.

And, that is one prayer.

Now, imagine if we pray without stopping, 24/7/365 for the USA to fulfill the Great Commission in the USA? And the world? How many lives would that impact now and after we are with our Maker?

What can several of us do--linked arms--and praying for USAGC 2026?

Do you want to join the prayer campaign?

What gets you fired up to pray?

(Picture from Microsoft Clipart)

So, what gets you fired up to pray?

Get fired up. Find something that lights you up, ignites your heart, and gets you on your knees. Use it to propel you to pray. Remember to A-S-K (Matthew 7:7) and keep on asking. Then, wait and see what happens. God will respond.

Wow. Speechless.

I am speechless. I got this link from my daily Glenn Beck newsletter and am stunned...but not--at the same time.

Check out this link:

Christians... I do not care if you like football. I do not care if you like Tebow. But, this is over the top. And... Where is the outrage?

Oh! But it gets better. Just wait. Take a look at this:

Now, where is the outrage? Excuse me?

If this does not make you want to pray for the souls in the United States, what would? It sure gets me fired up!

I hope Tim Tebow keeps it up! He's making a difference. If he wasn't, there wouldn't be this backlash. People lash out at what they fear. If God, and Jesus Christ weren't real, why are people so threatened? If God does not exist, why would they be threatened? Why would they by 'nothing'?

Lord, we lift Tim Tebow (and his family) up to you. May he continue to make the stand he does. Give him the strength to be bold about his faith in you. Protect him. Help his faith to forever increase.

Tim Tebow is now on my daily prayer list. He's in a position that has impacted not just Denver, not just Colorado, not just the United States, but the world.

This has me ready to pray, pray, pray for the American people to believe in John 3:16. Speaking of which, check out this link of John 3:16-21. It is appropriate for everything we just read. Here's the link:

Prayer Warrior Beware: Obstacles, Prayer-Giveuppers, and Prayer-Nevergiveuppers

It never fails.

Why, of course, this happens! Sigh.

The moment you make the commitment to the Lord to drastically change your prayer life, you will be hit with obstacles. It never fails. Some are self-inflicted (by accident or intentional). Some of them are just life. Things happen. Some are caused by the enemy. And others are test from God to see if we are going to be faithful. But, the cause of the obstacles does not matter at all. (Re-read the previous sentence as many times as necessary until it sinks in and becomes truth in your heart and mind.)

Instead, what matters is what you do with those obstacles.

Are you going to get upset with God--or just upset in general?

Or are you going to dig in an pray even harder, far longer, and grow determined in prayer? That is the question. This is what sets apart the prayer-giveuppers and the prayer-nevergiveuppers.

Be a prayer warrior! Dig in. Never give-up. Never. There are souls at stake.

Immediate Results: Never Cease

Rarely are our prayers given immediate results. That's not to say it doesn't happen, but it's rare.

Sometimes, it might takes days, weeks, months, and even decades.

In those cases, we typically will cease praying, or will want to do so. But, do not. God answers all prayers and will answer yours. It just takes time. Never give up. Pray harder and more often--rather than ceasing.

Answered Prayer

When you pray specifically, it makes it easier to know, and be able to identify, as God answers the prayer. When we pray in general, it is harder to note. Consequently, it's important to pray specifically. Hence, the Specific Prayer List.

It's also important to note that when God answers our prayers, it can be all at once or in states. Therefore, make sure to make note of each stage and how it is answered along the way as you pray and keep track of the answers.

Prayer Request #1: Employment

I'm praying for a very special lady who has been out of a job for 6 months and has no more unemployment available. She is down to her last $100 and has bills to pay... And it's almost Christmas. Ouch. And, her daughter is across the country and cannot make it home because of other obligations. Another ouch.

Her story is like many others out there.

Lord, help them to find a job and pay their bills.

My prayers are with you.

The Reality of USAGC 2026 being fulfilled

We will not know on paper if this will be the case. The statistics cannot confirm if everyone is really a Christian. However, if the statistics who claim they are Christian in the year 2026 is 100%, that's 22% more than those who do now on 16 December 2011 (looking at 2007 and 2009 statistics--see last blog post).

The other reality is we might not know for 5 to 10 years after 2026 if this happens. Hence, it will be a continual prayer even then. Just because the Great Commission is fulfilled at that point in time, it doesn't mean that babies weren't born. So, this will be a constant lifelong prayer.

The prayer campaign if USAGC 2026 is that it will be 100% real, not just in name Christians, in or by 31 December 2026, and fulfilling the Great Commission in the USA. Then, we will continue to pray after that.

The reality is that the Great Commission, once fulfilled, will need to be fulfilled every day afterward as babies are born and children mature to the age of accountability.

So, what am I saying? I am praying for 2026 and the Great Commission being brought to pass in the United States. Then, after that, the prayers will be continued.

I am praying specifically for the USA, but also for the world as well in a more general fashion. Of course I want nothing more than this to be fulfilled in the world.

This is a lifelong prayer.

Want to join me in this USAGC 2026 Prayer Campaign? If you do, send me an email to: aloyalfaith@gmail.com or add a comment to any of these blog posts.

How many Christians are there in the United States of America?: The Statistics

We need a baseline to know where we are starting our prayer campaign to have the Great Commission fulfilled in the United States of America in reality (not just in name) on or by 31 December 2026. So, here we go:

*** Please Note: If any of you can point me to this answer for the year 2011, I would appreciate it. I can't find it (yet). ***

However, according to a Pew Poll in 2007, it's 78.4% (See http://religions.pewforum.org/reports)

According to a Gallup Poll in 2009, it's 78%. (See  http://www.gallup.com/poll/124793/This-Christmas-78-Americans-Identify-Christian.aspx )

These percentages are of Roman Catholics and Protestants.

The question, though... Is are they really Christians, and have declared Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, or are they Christian in name only? also, are they actively following Christ and living the Word today?

Either way, that means 22% of Americans are definitely NOT Christian--in name or in reality as of 2009.

Then, there is this link, which is an interesting read:  http://www.quora.com/How-many-Christians-are-in-the-United-States --which says only 16% are really Christians.

There's a Difference: Praying the Word is the Answer to All of Life Problems and Questions

There is a difference between praying as we think we should
And praying as God thinks we should.

When we read the Bible, we learn how to pray. Literally. Read the Bible as a prayer to God. When you don't know to pray, read the Bible to God in an attitude of prayer. When you can't find the words, read the Bible as a prayer to God. When you are making decisions and plans, read the Bible back to God as a prayer. Pray the Word. When you need answers, read the Word and pray it to the Lord.

A mediocre prayer life

I've lived a mediocre prayer life at best at times.

USAGC 2026 changes things. It forces me to pray in a far deeper and harder way than ever before.

~ Stacy Duplease

Mediocrity

I do not want to live a lukewarm, mediocre, just enough, good enough, so-so life of faith.

I am tired of just getting by.

What would have happened if Jesus was ever, or ever did, any of these things?

Where in the Bible does it say that this is acceptable.

That is why I am praying with a new conviction for USAGC 2026. Lives and souls are at stake. I do not want anyone to go to hell because I failed to do what God required of me. I do not want to look him in the eye and answer to that one day.

I want everyone to learn about the new and free everlasting life they can find in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Word of God.

Why USAGC 2026?: Part 2

When I bought the book, "The Circle Maker," I had no idea it would be by far the best $11 I have spent in a long time. It will be a book I read over and over again--probably at least once a year. I cannot recommend it enough, needless to say. As a matter of fact, I think that if anyone ever decides to join me in this prayer campaign, I will make it suggested reading (I can't very well force anyone to read it, otherwise I would call it Required Reading.).

By the way, if you want to start reading the book, have a highlighter and your journal ready! Trust me. You will need them!

Oh! Here is one other layer. I keep up with the Christian publishing world and had not seen this book. When I bought the book, I somehow missed how 13 December 2011 was its release date. Now that I know that, I find this even more interesting. It adds to the story here and what God is doing in my life.

Then, God woke me up in the middle of the night Tuesday night. That was after I only got 4 hours of sleep the night before. Monday night, I tossed and turned and ended up reading for a while. I did not realize then that God was stirring. then, Tuesday night, I knew precisely what was going on--when I decided to read the book and see if it might help me go back to sleep. Not because it's a boring book (NO!!!), but because I have my body trained that if I am in bed reading, to get sleepy and go to sleep. Hah. It kept me up journaling for 3 hours. The sentence God opened with was:

What if I want you to stop writing?

Whoa!

What?

Then, yesterday, after lots of prayer and reading the book, God got through to me. He told me about USAGC 2026. Now, here I am...

I hope you hear how this is so unlike me! It's quite terrifying. It goes against everything I am and have done for 18 years. It doesn't make sense on the surface (but, oh how it does underneath!). God can surely use millions of people far more qualified for this than me. I'm just Stacy. That's it. Nothing fancy. Just me.

So, there is part of the background. There is more. Some of which is quite personal. In 6 months or less, I will tell you to come back to this blog post and will tell you more of what is going on in my life. Let me just say that God is working in some amazing, remarkable, befuddling ways. I can't help but chuckle and say, "'Kay."

There. Now you have it. That's the story of USAGC 2046.

WHY THE YEAR 2026?
God wants a commitment from me that stretches me in ways that are terrifying and dumbfounding. He wants a commitment from me that seems impossible. Then, he can show that he is God! 2026 is 25 years from now.

Can the Great Commission be fulfilled in the USA in 25 years? Well, the Bible doesn't mention anything like that. Let's be real here. But, does that mean it won't? God can do anything--and I mean anything. I know how much of a miracle it would be, but yes. It's possible.

However... That being said... If only one person accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior in the next 25 years because of my prayers, it will have been worthwhile. More than.

Nevertheless, I am going to pray now with everything I've got that the Great Commission will be brought to fruition in the United States of America by or on 31 December 2026.

If that doesn't happen, I will then commit to 2051. If not then, I will commit to 2076--if I live that long! That's how much God wants me to get serious about his people... his lost sheep.

And, how about you? Have you done anything crazy lately?

Why USAGC 2026? How did it come about in the process?: The Back-Story: Part 1

(Please forgive me for writing a book here, but it is needed.)

I do not know about you, but I always like to know the back-story. I love to peek behind the curtain and see what happens behind the scenes. Consequently, in case you are like me, I wanted to let you know how USAGC 2026 came about and why. (Never mind how I thought anyone might find my story interesting so that you can see how God is at work in USAGC 2026--in spite of me.)

I hope this story might help you to decide to make a deeper, long-term commitment with the world that is life-changing and join me in this prayer campaign.

The back-story is like an onion. There are so many layers I could peel back. There are years worth, as a matter of fact. However, I will spare you most of the details. Some of them are necessary, though.

When I was 19, I made a commitment to following the Lord and his Word far deeper than I ever had before. Prayer was my passion. Almost two decades later, not much has changed. On 01 November 2011, the Lord called me again to the deeper, more intimate life in the Word and in Jesus Christ.

I made a commitment to start writing books back in 2001, but have known since I was 10 years old that was what I wanted to do. Then, in May 2009, I made a full-time commitment to write. (Thank God for my husband!)

But, let me back up again in the story and peel off a couple more layers of the onion of my faith life. In Omaha, I had 20 close friends. We saw each other a few times EACH week. I was in two small group Bible weekly studies. Then, my husband and I moved to Virginia back in July 2011. I can count on one hand how many friends we have here. In fact, I don't even need all my fingers. I am not in a Bible study. I am in a different season at the moment. So, in Omaha, I did not write as much as I preferred. While here, I have more time than imaginable to write, do personal Bible studies, and pray.

Now, having given that background, you need to know something. The Great Commission has always intimidated me. Go into ALL the world. Preach the gospel... It seemed like too much commitment to me. My heart has never personally been in full-time missions. I support them, but the USA is my home... There isn't a calling for missions. Nor is my calling to walk up to people on the street and ask them if they know Jesus. Yikes. Just the thought terrifies me. What would I say?

So, did you read the previous blog post at: http://usagc2026.blogspot.com/2011/12/announcement-and-news.html? I ask that you read it at this time if you have not read it so you can get more of the layers and story here. Please do not read any more until you do.

Welcome back. Now, do you hear how much of a 360 I've been asked to do? This is HUGE. This is so not me it's unreal.

Are you tearing up? I am peeling back more layers once again.

On Tuesday, 13 December 2011, I sat here at my desk. I was minding my own business and writing when I got an interesting email. Here is the link for it: http://www.salememail.net/amdhfp/ViewMessage.do?s=ojfrzmtlrfrtqlvkgncsctmqjggqfwtczzv&r=nrydyftdwkwt&a=view&m=yscbgbflfc. Again, please go there before you read any further. It is another layer. (Please humor me.) And, yes. Some advertising and sales works. This is proof.

Huh! I thought the book listed at that link, "The Circle Maker: Praying Circles Around Your Biggest Dreams and Greatest Fears" by Mark Batterson sounded quite captivating. So, I went to this link (only go there if you want more information on the book or if you want to buy it.): http://www.amazon.com/Circle-Maker-Praying-Greatest-ebook/dp/B005EGK0MI/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1323972009&sr=1-1

I was sold in about 30 seconds. I immediately purchased the book for my Amazon Kindle Fire (another God-sent which has completely transformed my faith. I am not kidding. I carry my Bibles, prayer journal, and Bible studies with me 24/7/365 now and am without excuse for not reading the Word, praying, prayer journaling, etc. But, I digress.) Then, I started to read it.

The link that is the sale email states how "The Circle Maker" will give your prayer life a 360 is not a joke. It's not over-promising. The book delivers on that promise. The kicker... I will confess something to you. I am only 40% of the way through the book and my faith and life has been totally changed. I cannot underscore this enough.

Please see Part 2 for the rest of the story. It's the next blog post.

Announcement and News

I will explain more of this later today. However, for now, I need to let you know of my decision and a little bit about who I am.

As you know, I am Stacy. I am a writer, prayer warrior, blogger, author, and a prayer journalkeeper. I've dabble in writing a little bit of everything over the last 12 years--from fiction to non-fiction. From fantasy to Bible studies. From romance to spy thrillers.

However, I've decided to stop being mainly a writer. (I get goosebumps as I write this.) If you know anything about me, your mouth would be on the ground right about now. You would be convinced I lost my mind and would start praying for me--fearing I went off the deep-end and have suddenly changed everything about myself and who I am. Just like that. Snap of the fingers. You would also start praying for my husband as he deals with this change in his lunatic wife who has had a breakdown of some type. (There could be no other explanation.)

Reality: I am a writer. Period. It is part of who I am. I am NOT myself if I do not write. Period. End of story. I will write until the day I die.

As you guess, it's not what you think--or as I have led you to believe.

It's true, though. I will tell you more of this story later today in a blog post titled: 'Why USAGC 2026?' Writing will become a secondary thing in my life. Prayer is now first. USAGC 2026 will take EVERYTHING I've got. It will become who I am. It's my new commitment to God. He's asked for something far bigger of me than little ol' me could ever do.

I hope more people join me, of course.

However, if no one does, I will still do this.

I just made the announcement on all of my blogs that I am no longer writing fiction, Bible studies, etc. I will only write this blog and will pray. (But, not in that order.) In time, the blog posts of this blog will become books. But, it's just a natural result of me being obedient to the Lord and his Word.

This brings out lots of emotion in me. It's mostly good. Of course, I need to spend sometime now as I say goodbye to what was my dream... And turn the page to what God has called me to do with my life.

There will be no other blogs. There will be no other books. This is it. Ever.

Wow.

All I want to do is:
A Seek God.
B Live his Word.
C Pray without stopping.
D Meditate and ponder the Word morning, noon, and night (aka Praying the Word).
E Bring God maximum glory.
F Help others do the same as A-E.
G Fulfill the Great Commission in the USA on or by 31 December 2026.

To turn the page, I need to grieve the last one for a few minutes. Please excuse me while I go walk for 4 miles. (I am not joking.) Then, I will meet you back here in 2 hours or so.

Blessings,

Check out my new blog: News about my writing and USAGC 2046

As you know, 01 November 2011 brought a new change in my life. What you are about to read is an outpouring of this.

I have a new 25-year project to which I am going to invest all of my time. This is a brand new calling on my life, needless to say. I am ceasing all of my other projects. For the reasons why, check out the USAGC 2046 blog later on today and see why.

Please check out my new blog. It's the link below.

What is USAGC 2046?
It's fulfilling the Great Commission in the United States between now and 31 December 2046. It's a prayer campaign to bring this about and bring revival to our nation and in turn to the world. Do you want to get really serious about your faith? If so, please join me in this commitment.

Thank you for your loyal following! Words are not adequate to say how much it has meant.

God bless you and the USA!

It's time to get serious about prayer and the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20

Our 'mediocre, hit and miss, fast-food, when we feel like it, short-cutting, will get to sometime type' faith just isn't working.

Something is missing in our lives.

Our faith is dull at times.

Fewer and fewer Christians are reading the Bible--let alone yearly.

We aren't praying without ceasing or stopping (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

We are not meditating and pondering the Word of God morning, noon, and night (Psalm 1:2).

And then we wonder why the United States is becoming less and less of a Christian nation. The unbelievers are partly to blame... but, the Church as a whole in the USA is to blame. We are missing the mark.

We are not living what Jesus told the disciples in Matthew 28:19-20.

So... It's time to get serious about our faith, about prayer, about the Bible, and fulfilling the Great Commission here in the United States.

It's my goal that in the next 25 years (between now and 31 December 2026), if not sooner, for ALL of the United States to believe in John 3:16 (hence, for everyone to become Christian) and that we will be living an active, intentional, on-fire, immersed in the Word of God 24/7/365 life as a country. The only way this will happen is through radically committed hearts, minds, and lives--of prayer warriors (current and future) to pray for revival and the Great Commission on the United States of America.

Would you like to join me in this prayer campaign? If so, please let me know. Either add a comment to this blog or send me an email to: aloyalfaith@gmail.com

USAGC 2026 starts today--15 December 2011 at 9:10 a.m. (Eastern Time).
