Pray about the U.S. presidential elections

Forgive me, friends, for posting two blog posts in one day. However, I think you will learn this about me. If I do, it is for a very good reason and I try not to make a habit of doing so. Please give me grace for this today. However, with what happened last night, I thought it was important for me to address the 2016 U.S. Presidential Elections and what happened last night.

Senator Ted Cruz dropped out of the race.

Donald Trump is now the heir apparent, so to speak.

My husband and I received several emails and texts about this and people wondered how we could be so calm about this. Here is how:

We are voting for a platform, not a person. The Republican platform is the only one that lines up with biblical principles. They do not believe in abortion or socialism or fascism. They call terror terror.

We vote for our president and commander-in-chief, not our pastor-in-chief.

Voting is not about emotions, it is about principles.

We know who is really in charge. God is and no one else. We either trust God or we don't. And, here is a hint. If we say we trust God, and follow with a but, however, or if, or any kind of discourse, then we really don't trust  Him.

None of this is a surprise to God.

Voting for the woman who lied about Benghazi, who refuses to fight terror, and who did not properly handle classified information with her email, and who believes in abortion is not the one we should vote for biblically. If she cannot properly handle our national security, she cannot (and should not) be trusted.

Pray that Trump wins and that he lives and presides over the country with biblical values. Pray this every second of every day. Prayers can and will and do make a difference. We can pray for him so much that he can be the best president ever, regardless of how he appears, if we all take praying seriously, and we should. Then, he could be the best man of God and biblical values in the office. Our prayers can make him that way.

So, stop worrying and fretting and complaining. Pray instead that he becomes a God-fearing, Bible-centered man, who leads with those values and that he makes the U.S. Truly one nation under God again.

This is our obligation. Pray. And, vote for him, not for Hillary, and not a blank ballot. The latter actually give Hillary the vote. Not going to the polls is something we will have to answer to one day. Part of rendering to Caesar is voting. Part of our biblical obligation is voting. So, pray and vote. These are the only two things that can save our nation.

Continual and united prayer for the elections of the USA

Lord, are the elections the way they are today because of my lack of prayer? I know that prayer makes the difference. Did I fail to live up to my part in making the difference?

Lord, can they count now? Can you convict all of us to pray and to keep praying about the USA and change us to believe and behave as though we are truly one nation united Under God? Can you help us turn from our wicked ways and live the godly way? Can you help us Christians to quit living the comfortable faith we want to live and live the uncomfortable faith where we are under you, Lord, in every way? And can you help us submit to you and your sacred word, the Holy Bible?

Can you help us get serious about our faith because  what we have been doing is not working as is sinful? We cannot live as a nation apart from you, Jesus.

Help us to quit being so busy, so career-focused, so self-focused, and turn to you and your sacred word. Can you help us stop being so spiritually lazy?

Lord, help the United States be one a nation under God again. Help us vote for strong biblical values, not for a person, but for the platform. Help us not be lazy and vote.

Helps us also to unite in unceasing prayer for the United States of America from now until the elections in November. Help us to pray, and keep praying, and remain in the Holy Bible and live for you alone once again.

Help us to remember how important it is to constantly and consistently pray for the biblical values of the USA.

NaNoWriMo Day 6: NaNoWriMo Write-A-Thon Election Challenge

In a previous blog post this morning, I issued a writing challenge for whoever wants to join me. With how important this election is, I am going to stay up as long as it takes, even if it's all night, to hear who is declared the next or remaining President of the United States of America.

Why? I am not nuts. I am that passionate about this election. It's the most important election of my lifetime--and might be the most important one of my entire life.

So, why not use the time to the maximum benefit? As the news plays in the background, I am going to see how much writing I can do on my NaNoWriMo book.

Do you want to join me?

Presidential Elections

I just had an ephiphany when I spoke to my husband a couple of minutes ago and wanted to share it with you.

Vote in the Presidential Election in November.

Why?

This is probably the most important election of our lives.

Presidential Elections Prayer

This is a touchy subject.... Politics and all... And what I am about to say could step on some toes. But, this is a wake-up call for all of us (me included).

What is it about the shower? I do not know about you, but that's when God seems to really speak to me. Today, he spoke to me quite sternly in an effort to get my attention and get me to think with my head and not with my heart. Once he caught my attention, he told me to share the message with you.

It does not matter who any of us likes or wants to be elected. Read that repeatedly until it sinks in. It does NOT matter. It does not MATTER.

So, what does matter? I am glad you asked, because I asked the Lord that same question.

What matters is who GOD wants to be the next President of the United States.

We tend to elect people, and vote for people, because of all the WRONG reasons. ALL of the wrong reasons.

Who we vote for does not matter.

It is WHAT we vote for that matters. We need to vote for who God wants and the individual who does NOT do anything in office for their own agenda--or anyone else's. So, we need to pray for a selfless person for the office.

The individual MUST obey God and obey God's Word. Period. End of story. Again, re-read that repeatedly until it sinks in.

It does NOT matter if we like the person or not. What matters is that they are president--based on biblical principles alone. They are a servant of God then and that is who should, and must, be president. If we vote for anyone else, then WE ARE LIVING IN SIN. If we do not vote for a man or woman of God, who will live the Word regardless of what anyone (or any group) wants or prefers, then we are actively and intentionally disobeying the Lord and the Bible. Period.

If we do not vote, we are not right. We are in the wrong. We are to vote the person who will stand on biblical principles and not stand by as someone is elected who fails to do so.

Forget the people who are campaigning. What they stand for is what matters. It does not matter how they look. It does not matter how they speak. It does not matter if we like them. It does not matter if they say catchy phrases. It does not matter. What matters is what they stand on. Do they stand on self and/or agendas? Or do they stand on the Word of God?

Look at these elections in a way you NEVER have before. Look at them ONLY through the lens of the Bible. Forget everything else. Who stands the most with biblical principles? Who does God want? Nothing else matters.

This is the wake-up, foot to my pants insight I needed. How about you?

I think it's critical we spend EXTENDED time in prayer as the primary season is starting--and until the elections. May this be our focal prayer of determination. Pray without ceasing. This is critical. There is too much at stake.

What is wrong with the USA? We are. We have forgotten it's not about us or what we would prefer. It's about God.
