A Blog in Progress

A Blog in Progress

I'm working on adding all of my writing and previous blog posts to this blog. Stay tuned. You'll be able to find all of them here.

Also, you will not see very images at all on this blog. I want to focus on the journaling, writing, and reading components, not on images.

Thank you for coming your o this blog and website.

Have a blessed day.

SD Personal Prayer, Blessings, and Bible Journal (Sept.02.2014.Tues.)

******* NOTE TO READER
Please note that even in my personal journaling, I will add tidbits for you of how and what to journal, journaling tips, Bible readings and verses you can reflect on, and tidbits of how to write and how to write fiction in particular. Also, as I count my blessings, I can inspire you and give you ideas of your own to count. Therefore, my personal journaling can be quite enlightening. Skip reading it at your own peril. (Grinning.)

MORNING PRAYER
Good morning, Lord. Thank You for this new day, new month, new week, new year, new decade, and for the upcoming day, week, month, year, and decade (blessings 695-704). The past (almost) four decades of my life have been opportunities to bring You glory and be with You, where I try to live Your will and purpose each day. I pray this for the next four plus decades (if it is Your will). I pray for Your guidance today as I hope to draw nearer to You than my every yesterday and help me to see Your blessings, Your glory, Your work. Use me as Your vessel, Lord. Help my every thought, feeling, action, word be of You alone. Thank You for the opportunities and gifts of this day (705). To You alone be the glory.

JOURNALING PROMPT OR THEME OF THE DAY
Why has God given me this day? He has me alive for a reason and a purpose. He has equipped me with certain abilities and experiences in order to accomplish something(s) today. I will search for it/them all day long and will try to live it.

Also:
What blessings will He share with me today, directly and indirectly? I will search for them all day.

BIBLE READING
I need to read my readings from Friday through today. It looks like I need to read Psalms 126-139 and 1 Corinthians 10:19-13.

Psalm 126:3 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

The Lord had done great things for us;
we were joyful.

Amen! This is why we should count our blessings. He really has done great things for you and me.

Journaling Prompt: What great things has He done throughout your life? List each of them and count them as blessings.

Journaling Prompt: What great things will He do in your life today?

Lord, every day is a blessing knowing You and being with You. (707. 708.)

Blessings Counted List

2014-09-01 17:14:23

I'm thankful...

691 Today is the first day of a new month, where God can use me in any way He desires.

692 I can look around today and see God.

693 Fall is around the corner.

2014-09-01 19:26:52

Every journal entry I do is a prayer journal (pj), a blessings journal (bj), and just a regular journal. However, sometimes, I will focus on different aspects in a journaling entry. This entry will be focused on prayer journaling in particular.

Zack was having dementia a couple of minutes ago. Thank God, it's calmed down. (694)

Lord, keep it calmed down and help him relax.

Abba, please guide me. Tell me what YOU want me to write. Everything seems to work for a while, then it changes and I get a fire for something else. Why? Is it my lack of focus? Is it me not obeying You? Show me the way, Lord. Please.

What would my ideal book be? What has God equipped me to write? (I look up and pray, Lord? Pause. My voice trips off...)

Journaling plus history plus family tree (genealogy) plus fiction plus journaling how-to plus faith-based and prayer and blessings based equals ideal book.

Yes. Those are all of my passions rolled into one. That fits and sounds right.

Okay. Great. What on earth does that look like?

Today is the first day of the Esther Bible study.

ESTHER: WEEK ONE, DAY ONE

Esther 1:1-4 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

These events took place during the days of Ahasuerus, who ruled 127 provinces from India to Cush. In those days King Ahasuerus reigned from his royal throne in the fortress at Susa. He held a feast in the third year of his reign for all his officials and staff, the army of Persia and Media, the nobles, and the officials from the provinces. He displayed the glorious wealth of his kingdom and the magnificent splendor of his greatness for a total of 180 days.

Matthew 6:19-21 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

19 “Don’t collect for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But collect for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

I just bought this Bible:

It's the LIFE APPLICATION STUDY BIBLE HCSB e-book. I've decided to use it for all of my Bible study. Period. I can highlight it and take notes, then print them out for my reference later. So, I've been reading up on everything regarding Esther.1:1-4.

In Esther 1:2, we learn the setting of the story: Susa, which was the city of the royal fortress. Susa is now in modern day Iran and here is a link about the place:

The King was prideful and his possessions and wealth were what he showed off and flaunted--for 180 days or six months.

Pride always comes before a fall.

Often times, when we are prideful we do not turn from God.

Pride takes our attention off of God.

How is my pride? How much do I focus on money and possessions?

MEMORY VERSE
Matthew 6:20

Matthew 6:19-21 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21 forwhere your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Quit focusing on the things of this world. Focus on heaven and eternity instead.

SDBJ Journal August 31, 2014 (812 a.m.)

SDBJ = Stacy Duplease Blessings Journaling

NOTE ABOUT SDBJ AND OTHER JOURNALING/BLOG TITLES (SDBJ, BJC, AND TBJG)
I'll put SDBJ in the journal entry title or header in order to help distinguish what is my personal Blessings Journaling, what is my Blessings Journaling Coaching, and my fiction writing of TBJ Group (The Blessings Journaling Group). So, in each title of my journaling or blog entry, I will add: SDBJ, BJC, or TBJG to help distinguish between them, so we can tell the difference at first glance.

ANOTHER CHANGE: FEW TO NO IMAGES
I will not be adding an image or photo to every journal entry or blog post, which goes smack-dab against all conventional blogging wisdom.

Why? This is supposed to be about Blessings Journaling and Blessings Counted Journaling, not photos. It's about blessings, nothing else. It's about the words used to convey the blessings, not images or photos. In fact, I think images or photos can detract from the main point: lessings. Period. Nothing else. Pure and simple.

BLESSINGS COUNTED JOURNALING
FRIDAY, AUGUST 29, 2014
674 Hubby, Zack Beagle, and I went on a road trip.

675 We saw God's country as we drove to Roanoke, Virginia and back.

676 We saw big, open skies, something we cannot see where we live because of the thick and tall trees. It's been over six months since I saw so much sky.

677 We rolling hills and mountains with some trees, but you could see through them and over them. Beautiful! (Here, where we live, it's flat like North Dakota, but with trees you cannot see or breathe through.) Mountains, let me stress. Mountains!

678 We made a memory.

2014-08-31 10:54:50

679 Feeling rejuvenated after seeing big blue sky, rolling hills, and mountains.

670 Wondering the history of the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge Mountains.

676 Started to read THE STORY KEEPER by Lisa Wingate. Fantastic.

SATURDAY AUGUST 30, 2014
671 Went to breakfast at a favorite place.

672 Went to Lowe's to buy new materials and tools to make a new turtle basking platform.

673 Did the DIY project when we got home of profile, egg crate, and zip ties to make Shelly a new basking platform.

674 Added water to turtle tanks, in which Harry and Shelly were thrilled.

675 Shelly decided to play interior designer and move around the new setup in her tank. I had to go no less than eleven times to fix it and hubby did the same four times.

677 Finished reading THE STORY KEEPER by Lisa Wingate. Fantastic.

678 Went to bed early.

681 B went to get groceries.

682 When B went to get groceries, he got me some brown rice. It was NOT what I wanted. (Bummer, right?) Well, I tried it and it ended up being my favorite. Good stuff. Yay!

SUNDAY AUGUST 31, 2014

679 Slept in later.

680 Been having a slow morning. It's been nice.

683 Started a new blog today, TBJ Group (The Blessings Journaling Group)... a nonfiction and fiction blog about a group of people who journal.

684 Cat was a love bug last night and 685 this morning.

686 Ground beef and salsa

687 Brown rice, cheese, a little cream, water, dash of onion powder. Yum.

MY TWO MAIN BLOGS

MY TWO MAIN BLOGS
I have two blogs on and about Blessings Journaling:
2 The Blessings Journaling Group http://tbjgroup.blogspot.com/

I started the Blessings Journaling blog on August 16, 2014 and TBJ Group (The Blessings Journaling Group) this morning (August 31, 2014).

Blessings Journaling is my personal Blessings Journaling, nonfiction only, where I also coach on how to do Blessings Journaling.

TBJ Group is a fiction and nonfiction blog, where I'm writing a fictional series about a Blessings Journaling Group, but I also hope we form one online, where we talk about our journaling and share our journaling.
