BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY (WORD OF THE DAY)

1 John 5:14-15 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

14 Now this is the confidence we have before Him: Whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked Him for.

Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB). Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2009 by Holman Bible Publishers, Nashville Tennessee. All rights reserved.

Prayer journal your thoughts, then answer the following questions:

What do you learn about prayer?

Are you confident when you approach God in prayer?

Do you pray with confidence as though your prayer has already been answered?

What was the last big prayer God answered? How? When?

What big prayers are you praying now?

What simple, smaller (but no less lofty or big) prayers are you praying now?

How will you apply this to your life?

What does God say?

What do you say to God?

Pray on this and ponder it all day and night. Keep journaling about it as well.

NOTHING REQUIRES AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE: SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
(A JOURNALING EXERCISE OR PROMPT)

Nothing in this life requires an immediate response, except in matters of literal life and death situations.

Yet, how often do we react immediately and without question or thought?

How often do we react before we take the time to gather ALL the facts?

Doing so has caused families to divide, friendships to break, divorces, loss of a job, murder, race riots, and even war.

If we were to stop, think things all the way through and fully, and gather all the facts, then our reactions would be based on truth and not on emotion. We would them make the best decision every single time and people wouldn't get hurt.

Stop. Think. Gather the facts. Then, react.

Think.

Life and Writing Chronicles 04-30-2015.

THE DEFINITION OF LIFE: A JOURNALING PROMPT

I define life in this fashion: It's a series of blessings to be counted.

Every moment has multiple blessings, if only we search for them. If we were to do this with every moment of our lives, we would live the best life possible, a supremely blessed one that is acknowledged and counted as blessed.

Journal your thoughts.

Count your blessings. List as many as you can.

SINAN THE CAT
(APRIL 29, 2015: A VERY IMPORTANT DATE)

04-29-2015 was an important date. Our orange Maine Coon cat, Sinan, turned six years old. So, now he is older than me in cat years, but younger than B. He was given extra attention and wished a happy birthday, in which he looked a combination of annoyed and confused. He didn't care for the extra attention, after all it was not on his terms or time clock. Poor Puttins.

I gave him an extra dose of playing flying fish on a stick and string, though, which cheered him right up, jumping high, going in circles, pouncing, somersaults, and running. It was a cat's paradise and ideal workout program. Sinan was then quite pleased.

What a joy Sinan had been. He has one of the best personalities and is guaranteed to do something goofy to make B and I laugh out loud at least once a day. He is also a sensitive soul and knows anytime something is wrong with anyone in the household and he tries to take care of them. He's playful and talkative. His vocabulary amazes me. Never mind how he is too smart for his own good. What a blessing he is and has been.

He was found by a cat rescue as a tiny kitten, he and his siblings, by the railroad tracks in Iowa. We adopted him in August. He was fourteen weeks old or so. So, he was our first rescue. We are not sure if we rescued him or if he rescued us.

I cannot picture life without him. He adds depth and love to our lives, never mind joy and sometimes frustration. He is not a destructive cat, but his curiosity can get him into trouble where he accidentally hurts something. For instance, at an unfamiliar house, he wanted to jump onto the ledge which opened to the downward stairway. Since he hadn't jumped up there before, he didn't realize he could fall all the way through, and fall down the stairs to the bottom, if he didn't make his landing a perfect ten on the ledge.

Well, let's just say there were houseplants there. He tried to grab one of the pots to break his fall, which meant the pot ended up somehow falling down the stairs and breaking into several pieces and it made one massive mess. Sinan was mortified. B and I wanted to wring his neck since it was not our house or plant. But, he knew he made a mistake. He didn't run. He waited for us to find him and he faced his scolding like a lion. We cleaned the mess, went to the store to fix what the cat did, and went back to the house to fix it and love on Mr. Mischievous.

Never mind how he jumped on top of the fridge, didn't realize it was cold, slippery, or dusty and he slid right off in surprise, fell to the floor, unharmed except his pride.

Or, do we need to tell how he loves the daily newspaper. He jumps on the table, buries himself under it, pushes it into the air, and onto the floor so he can wrestle with it and pounce on it? And, need I mention, the paper isn't ours, but is the paper of the house we are staying? (Ugh.) That accidentally destructive part I mentioned earlier...

Also, Sinan is the protector of our domain. He alerts us if he hears anything out of the ordinary and will growl and put himself between us and the threat (usually a perceived threat). He is quite alert and takes good care of us. This is one of his best qualities.

Sinan is a character, that is for sure. What a blessing, though! Thank God for him in our lives. Laughter, love, and memories.

The New Daily Plan for RYP Stories Blog Posts (A New Blog Introduction)

The New Daily Plan for RYP Stories Blog Posts (A New Blog Introduction)

I wanted to share my new daily plan and set-up for Remembering Your Present (RYP) Stories blog. After all, I have so many ideas I want to make sure to capture them all on the page. I also recognize how not everyone who reads this blog will be a Patriot, military supporter, conservative, Christian. This blog is about more than that. Therefore, how do I include all of my passions in one blog and in a daily blog post? I want to include thoughts about life, wisdom, Journaling prompts, news links, stories about critters (animals and pets), personal history (life story or memoir), inspirational, stories of fiction, how to journal, how to write fiction, and tell of my latest writing projects and progress.

Also, I want to avoid multiple blog posts per day. Therefore, I will combine all into one blog post I will send around noon Mountain Time each day.

I have decided to put my daily blog posts in a careful order. I am adding to the top of each blog post the things that would appeal to the most, and as you move down reading the blog post, I will add the things fewer might want to read.

Therefore, I need to ask you a huge favor.

MAY I ASK YOU A HUGE FAVOR?
Would you please do me the kindness of being discriminate enough to ignore the stuff you don't want to read and skim the rest to see what you do want to read? Will you not totally ignore these blog posts because you do not agree with parts or because parts do not apply to you?

I guarantee you can, and will, find something you like to read in most blog posts.

Thank you so very much.

Have a blessed day.

Word of the Day. Hope 003. Hebrews 6:19-20, Part 3.

OPENING PRAYER

Psalm 119:27 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

27 Help me understand
the meaning of Your precepts
so that I can meditate on Your wonders.

A TRUE STORY

A father had a son.

He taught his son how to live the best life possible. He taught his son wisdom and about unconditional love for his family, friends, and even his enemies.

He wanted his son to stand out against the crowd by doing good and being, not following others.

Needless to say, the son made enemies. They disagreed with his father's wisdom and with his. They doubted him, even though several people agreed with the son.

The son's wisdom challenged people so much, they argued with him, made fun of him, and hated him. The son had people agree with his wisdom, not the others who thought they were wise. The others ended up hating him for taking their followers, they were jealous of him, and they made a plan to remove their threat, the son.

So, they did. They killed him.

Problem solved?

Right?

Nope.

Would you believe three days later, he rose from the grave. He was not a zombie, though. He had fresh flesh and a pulse.

He showed himself to his friends who followed him. He shared how his enemies could not destroy him. He lived so his friends and followers could as well.

Then, he went to a different realm in order to watch them until the appointed time, when a certain number followed Him. Then, he would return and fight the evil and others of the world and destroy it. Then, those who believed his wisdom would be able to live with him and his father forever.

They just needed to believe in him and his wisdom, and in nothing and no one else.

Belief saves.

Lack of beliefs kills. A lack of belief in the good, in the good wisdom, leads to evil and to death.

Belief is love.

Lack of belief is hatred.

The father and son are the embodiment of absolute, unconditional love, other than believing and following the son.

Journal your thoughts. What do you think of this story?

~*~

HOUSEKEEPING

I think you might be sensing a trend in these blog posts. At the beginning, I give additional information to help us gain the most of today's Bible reading and daily devotional. At the end, I give current events prayer points. So, let's get to some of the housekeeping material for this blog post.

ABRUPT

I think I need to share one of my strengths, which some would consider a negative (at first). I can be abrupt and in your face at times and will challenge you. I may accidentally offend you, which is hardly my intent. However, tiptoeing around never helped anyone and only leaves people with hurt toes.

We need truth. Pure and undiluted truth. The kind that can smack us on the head or heal a broken heart. The kind that offers strength and assurance and something to stand on without hesitation.

I may be abrupt at times, but it is when I am trying to make a strong and firm point I do not want any of us to miss. It is not to pick on you, but is meant to drive a point home. It is meant for your best, not to harm you or upset you. I want to get through all of the noise in your heart and mind and drive a point home.

Does this make sense?

Now, for the abrupt part.

WHERE DOES REAL HOPE COME FROM?

Everyone can find and have Real Hope.

Everyone without fail. All-inclusive.

But, there is a catch. And, isn't there always a catch? Nothing is really free in this life. (Hang in there, I will get to this catch in a few moments.)

Stop.

(This is the abrupt part.)

Can I ask you for a huge favor here? Can you stifle your emotions and forget about them for a moment. Ignore your emotions and pretend you have none so you can think. Really, fully think. Not partially think. And, do not be biased. Be open to fact. Can we look at things logically for a moment? Can we look at just the facts and not opinions?

Can we reason together?

Forget all of your assumptions and opinions for a moment. Sweep them to the side. Let's look at fact--just fact--and think things all the way through to a conclusion and not get hung up before we reach the conclusion. Let's be mature thinkers who look at fact alone. For ourselves. And not take into consideration what others say or have said--or even what we might have said in the past. Forget all that and address just these facts in this blog post.

We are intelligent beings and can look at facts for ourselves and do not need to be spoonfed our opinions because we are immature and do not think. We will stand on our own two feet and use our own brains and address just the facts. Just the facts.

Can we also ignore our initial thoughts and the thoughts that are doubtful or negative? Can we ignore our feelings thoughts so we can reason and be logical?

Can we do this? Can we reason together? Can we also agree to do this for the rest of this blog post?

If you can at least try this, then please continue reading.

If not... Why not? Can you not have self-control? Of course you can. Choose to and continue reading.

WE WANT REAL HOPE

Can we agree that we want Real Hope? The kind of hope that lasts and is strong? The kind of hope that doesn't blow with the winds of change or challenge?

I would think so since we are reading this. Hebrews 6:19-20 talks about this type of hope. Let's review this verse and quotation and look at it as mere facts on the page, nothing more, nothing less. Let's read:

Hebrews 6:19-20GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

19 We have this confidence as a sure and strong anchor for our lives. This confidence goes into the holy place behind the curtain 20 where Jesus went before us on our behalf. He has become the chief priest forever in the way Melchizedek was a priest.

GOD’S WORD Translation (GW). Copyright © 1995 by God's Word to the Nations. Used by permission of Baker Publishing Group.

What are the facts here? (Hint and tip: Feel free to do this with every verse and passage, by the way. Break it into chunks so you can address and think through each of them, one by one, on their own. It helps us to fully grasp each part.)

Let me break this verse down into the facts here. Please note it is a direct quote of the GNT, but I removed the verse numbers so we can look at each part or segment. Also, I made each a complete sentence.

The facts are:

We have this confidence as a sure and strong anchor for our lives.
2 This confidence goes into the holy place behind the curtain
3 To where Jesus went before us on our behalf.
4 He has become the chief priest forever in the way Melchizedek was a priest.

I think we can agree point 1 is wonderful and describe what we seek. Right?

Points 2-4 are the convoluted points that we may not fully grasp. So, we need to break them down.

Let's see if another version of the text might help us do so.

Hebrews 6:19-20 Living Bible (TLB)

19 This certain hope of being saved is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls, connecting us with God himself behind the sacred curtains of heaven, 20 where Christ has gone ahead to plead for us from his position as our High Priest, with the honor and rank of Melchizedek.

Living Bible (TLB). The Living Bible copyright © 1971 by Tyndale House Foundation. Used by permission of Tyndale House Publishers Inc., Carol Stream, Illinois 60188. All rights reserved.

Let's break this passage down into segments of fact:

1 This certain hope of being saved is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.

2 It connects us with God himself behind the sacred curtains of heaven.

3 To where Christ has gone ahead to plead for us from his position as our High Priest

4 It is where he has the honor and rank of Melchizedek.

Did you see it in this version? Did you see the catch?

The catch is we have to be saved, which means believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Now, you might roll your eyes at me, get angry because of the nonsense, or you may nod and say, "I do." Either way, please continue reading so we can talk about this and what it really means. Remember, we agreed to reason together and look at the facts logically and think things all the way through to their conclusion.

Fact: The Real Hope we are searching for can only be found if we are saved.

So, what this implies is another fact.

Fact: We cannot have Real Hope unless we are saved.

What in the world does it mean to be saved or to believe in Jesus Christ? Just looking at the facts here.

I am glad you asked.

BEING SAVED AND BELIEVING IN JESUS: WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ANYWAY?

Can you agree you make mistakes?

Can you admit you are not perfect?

Both of those are facts in my life and in yours. Without exception.

The Bible calls our mistakes sins and our imperfections our sinful nature's.

Are you following?

The Bible talks about how for forgiveness of our mistakes, a sacrifice of blood must be made. Meaning an animal is killed for its blood for the forgiveness of our wrongdoings.

However, Jesus Christ was born, he lived a perfect life, and unblemished one, and died as the final sacrificial unblemished lamb, so no more blood ever needs to be spilled again. He did it for us. He willingly died so we could be forgiven and live forever in perfection in heaven, forever in the presence of God. But, the catch is, we must believe He did this for us.

Those are all facts. Period.

We could go into a great deal of other facts here. Is the Bible true? Did Jesus really do this? Etc.

However, let us not think about those right now. They are not facts we need to address right now. Let's look at the facts we need to:

We can have hope like an anchor, strong and trustworthy.

But, we need to believe Jesus died for the forgiveness of our errors.

That's it.

We are not asked to kill others who do not believe.

We are not asked to believe in something imperfect.

I do not know about you, but believing in myself or in another is folly, for we make mistakes. All of us.

But, Jesus never did. So, He was able to be the final ", unblemished sacrifice.

It seems far easier, factually, to believe in something and someone perfect rather than flawed.

Also, Jesus died on earth, but He is alive in heaven, in another realm or dimension.

Isn't it easier factually to believe in someone alive and not dead?

Isn't it easier to believe in someone versus something?

Isn't it easier to believe in someone, not some idea or thought which are nebulous, or in some activity which doesn't last?

Isn't it easier to believe in something perfect, not flawed?

Isn't it easier to believe in someone who died so you can have eternal life after this earthly body, than on someone or something who offers you nothing after this life?

Isn't it easier to believe in someone who says to love your enemy and turn the other cheek, than to believe someone or something that tells you to torture and murder your enemy, and the enemy is someone who does not believe what you do?

Isn't it easier to believe in someone rather than nothing?

Isn't it easier to believe in someone, not in chaos or randomness?

Isn't it easier to believe in someone who only asked belief of you and nothing else, than to believe in someone with several requirements?

Isn't it easier to believe in love and not hatred?

Jesus is the only one to offer you these things. No other idea or concept, person, activity, possession, place, etc. can offer you all of this.

Jesus is the Real Hope all of us seek.

Let me recap about Jesus:

He was a man.

He now lives eternal life... forever.

He is perfect and not flawed in any way.

He is the embodiment of love, for he allowed Himself to be sacrificed so no one after Him needs to be.

He says to love and forgive your enemy.

This is all fact. It may seem unbelievable to you. But, give it time. Keep reading this over time. It will make more sense. Let it roll around in your head for a while.

I have one more final question: What does it hurt to believe in Jesus? What do you have to lose?

You have everything to lose if this is fact and you choose not to believe. You will never find Real Hope, only false hope  that is merely impersonating Real Hope.

How will you know if you have false hope? You will never be satisfied and will never be hope-FULL. You will keep looking for Hope around the corner, never finding it.

Now, chew on this, think on this, for the next day. Journal your heart out. Get it all on the page. Keep thinking this through.

Now, the next verse will have whole new meaning for you after reading and thinking through this blog post.

 Hebrews 6:19-20 The Message (MSG)

18-20 We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It's an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek.

Word of the Day. Hope 002. Hebrews 6:19-20, Part 2.

Written 04.27.2015, Monday, 1107 a.m.

I HAVE FOUND THE REAL HOPE

I have come to the place where I know and have an absolute hope that never fails me. It does not matter how dicey life gets, how challenging, how frustrating, stressful, or busy, I still know where my hope comes from... where my true, real, absolute, never-ending, eternal hope comes from.

It does not come from anything or anyone on this earth. Everything and everyone on this earth dies and will fail me at one time, whether accidentally or intentionally. But, I know a hope that never dies and never lets me down in any way. It's a hope that is an absolute firm, solid, steady foundation that never shifts or falters.

I have come to know this Real Hope that no matter how many challenges there are in my life, and in the world, I can rest assured and confident that in the end, everything will be alright. And, it will be better than alright. It will be for the absolute best. For, this Real Hope has never failed me and will never fail me.

My search for hope has been so blessed and so agonizing. The agonizing part has been all self-induced, let me add. However, I have gotten to the place where I stand confidently that my hope will never fail and all I need to do is stand on the promise of the anchor of my hope. I cannot tell you how much peace this brings. This is the true peace, not the manufactured, wishful or idealistic thinking peace. It's a peace that has its roots in my deepest parts of my heart, mind, and soul. It brings me contentment and joy. It helps me see how there are blessings in every single moment of my life, if only I stop and search for it. But, I only find these things because of my Real Hope.

I HAVE SEARCHED FOR HOPE IN ALL THE WRONG PEOPLE, PLACES, AND THINGS

I will not lie or feed you lines to help you feel better. I am not that type and you do not deserve anything less than truth.

It took me years to find this Real Hope.

I have tried everything (and everyone) under the sun to find hope in. And, none of it/them have worked. Maybe temporarily, but certainly not full-time. I failed miserably on this quest. It's been years, decades really, where I have searched for real hope in these sources of false hope.

Let me save you the time and get to source of Real Hope. It is one thing to know the answer and the source, it is another to really know it down deep in your heart and logically think it through entirely with your mind. That is the reason for this Bible reading and daily devotional series: "A Search for Hope: Journal the Word Series."

Let me share with you my journey of finding this hope. I will be brutally honest and share a picture of myself that makes me look ugly, like a fool, and flat-dab stupid at times. I have errored and made some huge, ugly mistakes. I am not perfect. I have made a mess out of my own life in my pursuit for Real Hope. However, I can try to spare you from making the same foolhearted thinking and mistakes. I can show you the error of my ways.

My biggest tip for learning about Real Hope is to do this blog post series and think things through morning, noon, evening, and night. Be thorough in your thinking. think through every single angle you can. Make sense of it. Use logic. Get out of the emotion and be sure to think things through, not obsess, if that makes sense.

THERE IS A REAL HOPE

Let give you the assurance that there is a Real, True, Eternal Hope. And, it is the same hope for everyone of us.

The difficulty comes in fully knowing, believing, accepting, and applying the belief and knowledge of this Real Hope. This blog post series will help you to to so.

HOW I WILL APPROACH THIS BLOG POST TO BOOK SERIES

I will share with you how to search for hope and go through verses (quotes) which provide the way and the answers. As I do, I will search for hope with you. I will do this in a daily devotional style as well as in my personal prayer journaling.

I have no idea how long or short this series will be. But, we will be thorough and will take out time to think things through to their completion, and that process takes time. Too often we rush through things and that is where we are most likely to error. So, let's take our time and think as we search for our Real Hope.

USE A JOURNAL

There is only one way to think something completely through. It requires seeing it and writing it, plus listening to it and speaking it. It requires us to use as many of our senses and ways or methods of learning possible. We will try to do this.

However, there is one sure-fire way to guarantee we think something through thoroughly and to its completion. It requires one thing: time and practice. It requires remembering and applying what we learn. It requires review and analyzing. The best and only way to accomplish these things is through journaling. Period. End of story.

You are sure free to try to do this "A Search for Hope" series without journaling, but I guarantee, without hesitation and unequivocally, that you will only get 5 to 10% out of it. Hence, you may be lucky enough to find 5 to 10% of Real Hope.

I am not kidding.

Please take this very seriously. And journal.

HOW DO YOU JOURNAL?

If you need more of an answer than I provide here, make sure to add a comment at the end of this or any blog post or send me an email. I can help. I have journaled for over 32 years.

There is no right way or wrong way to journal. Forget about grammar or if it makes total sense. It's okay to repeat things as they come to mind as well. Never cross anything out or erase or delete or clean it up or rip it up. Never. Journaling is a process and it is transformational. Therefore, you want to keep your complete record, regardless of how messy or ugly. Our journal is our safe place. It is better to be messy and ugly there rather than anywhere else in the world.

You will refer back to your journaling in the days to weeks, to months, to years and decades to come to review and analyze so you can learn and grow. If you don't, you will not be able to use this as the best tool you have in your toolbox to grow.

What is journaling and how do you do it?

Short answer: Journaling is putting your thoughts and memories on the page through writing.

Long answer: Journaling is writing your thoughts, memories, experiences, emotions, dreams, hopes, goals, fears, etc. down on the page.

I recommend doing online journaling at:

http://classic.penzu.com/r/34f16257

Penzu.com journaling is permanent and cannot ever be damaged, stolen, destroyed, or lost. You can lose your computer, cell, and tablet, and your journal will be safe. You can keep your journal for life and it will always be saved on the internet Cloud.

Also, you can use any of those devices to journal on Penzu.com.

The link if of the Penzu PRO edition, which costs, at the present, $19 per year. With that link, you get 20% off of that amount. And, I have used the PRO version since 2012 and the price has not increased once, if that helps.

But, for now, they offer a FREE version at Penzu.com. Use that one until you get familiar with it. Then, upgrade if you want fancier options or not. Just keep using Penzo.com. trust me. The free version is incredible and I cannot recommend it enough. The PRO version is prettier and offers more options.

I could tell you a million other ways to journal, probably literally, but I won't waste your time. Penzu.com is the only way to go because of the reasons why I shared with you ready.

If you don't like the idea of keeping a digital journal you have to write out and keep on your computer and over the internet then, think of this: Use it every single day without fail for 90 days and it will become a habit.

And, yes. That is the other key with this series on a search for hope. Think on it every single day, morning, noon, evening, and night without fail. Do so in your journal.

Now, let's start this series of "A Search for Hope."

OPENING THOUGHT AND PRAYER

I want an open, unbiased, clear mind and heart as I ponder Hebrews 6:19-20. I do not want to be distracted. I want to be focused on this alone as I search for a source of real, true, absolute, never-ending hope.

I want to think this through thoroughly and not just a little or off and on. I want to dissect it, look at it from every angle, and absorb fully what it means and the implications thereof.

I want to find and fully know this anchor of hope.

Lord help me to do so. Help me to grasp every single nuance of these verses, these quotes, word by word, part by part, and in their entirety.

The only way for me to be distracted is to make sure to write in my journal anything that distracts me, so I can let it go and return to it later if needed. Let me explain. If I am journaling about Hebrews 6:19 and in the middle of it I remember I need to go to the grocery store to get cat litter, I skip to the next line I. My journal, write exactly that, and then return to my original thought. Then, when I am finished with that journaling entry, I read through it to see if I need to remember and or do any of those "side-thoughts."

WORD OF THE DAY: HEBREWS 6:19-20

Let us more thoroughly look at these verses. And, as we do, we will write these in our journals and interact with the text. We will write our thoughts, feelings, questions, concerns, epiphanies, and the things that just do not make sense to us. We will do this with every verse first. We will look at three versions or translations of every verse and interact, and think things through, with each of them.

Now, if at any time something jumps out at you and grabs you, stop. Focus on that for a while. Keep thinking it and praying it through. Meditate on it, ponder it, contemplate and see what more you learn about hope as an anchor, Real Hope. Make sure to journal as much as possible as you do this.

If you keep feeling moved and inspired by that segment or word, then keep focusing on it. Read the rest of this post before tomorrow, but stop where you are and keep thinking and praying. Let it simmer. You will not believe how much you can learn as you open yourself to hearing everything the Lord has to say about these verses, each word, each segment.

Do this with every blog post of this hope series. Make sure you read the entire post, but make sure to focus on the things that really grab you.

Here is a thorough version of our Word of the Day today:

Hebrews 6:19-20 Expanded Bible (EXB)

19 We have this hope as an anchor for ·the soul [our lives], ·sure [stable; secure] and ·strong [reliable; unshifting]. It enters behind the curtain in the ·Most Holy Place in heaven [L inner place/sanctuary], 20 where Jesus has gone ·ahead of us [L as a forerunner] ·and for us [on our behalf]. He has become the high priest forever, a priest like Melchizedek [Ps. 110:4; Heb. 5:6, 10; 7:1–17].

Now, let me share another version or translation of these verses:

Hebrews 6:19-20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, 20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Here is our third version:

Hebrews 6:19-20 Living Bible (TLB)

19 This certain hope of being saved is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls, connecting us with God himself behind the sacred curtains of heaven, 20 where Christ has gone ahead to plead for us from his position as our High Priest, with the honor and rank of Melchizedek.

Also, go back and look at the versions shared in HOPE 001 and interact with those verses as well.

Then, if your favorite version of the Bible wasn't used, make sure to add it and interact with it in your journal.

Now, forget your favorite version or translation of the Bible for a minute. Be unbiased and look at these translations and pick your one or two favorites which speak to you the most. List them in your journal and share why they speak with you the most.
